Can I verify an app without a SIM card?

Yes. Apps need a phone number that can receive the verification code, not a physical SIM. Why do free online SMS numbers fail verification?

They are shared public inboxes on recycled numbers. Most platforms allow one account per number, so a previous user has usually claimed it, and the ranges are widely blocklisted so the message is often never sent. Every code that does arrive is readable by anyone.

Does the verification number have to be from my own country?
